Dorothy Ruth Didato Faust Obituary
Dorothy Ruth Didato Faust
Dorothy (Dot) Ruth Didato Faust passed away at St. John Paul II Center in Danbury, CT on September 5, 2018. Dorothy was born in Norwalk, CT on December 1, 1929 and married Ernest G. Faust in June of 1950. While raising seven children they moved to Bethel and upon retirement, Alamo, Texas became their beloved home for the next thirty years. Shortly after their 66th anniversary, Dorothy had to move back to CT because of Ernie's passing in 2016. When their children were small Dot and Ernie loved planning trips and going camping. They even started the "Crackpots" chapter of the National Campers and Hikers Association. They traveled the country until they were too old to do so. Dorothy was very devoted to keeping journals of every part of her life. She loved gardening and especially enjoyed growing her beautiful roses. There were bird feeders all around her yard. Flowers, hummingbirds, cardinals, blue-jays and of course squirrels were frequent objects of her fondness for photography. She loved reading and enjoyed telling everyone that she learned to be a speed reader as a young girl. You never saw Dot without a book. Another talent of Dorothy's was her ability to draw, sketch and paint. She was very creative and artistic and had she been able to Dot would have owned her own horse. Many who knew her would agree that Dot was always "put together", beautifully dressed with her matching jewelry, her make up, and of course her hair always in place. May she rest in peace as she joins the love of her life, Ernie, and her son Stanley. Dorothy is survived by her sons and daughters, Randy Faust and his significant other Beverly of Maryland, Ernest Faust and his wife Jane of Bethel, Nancy Wildman and her husband Kenneth of Danbury, Steven Faust and companion Veronique, and sister-in-law Yuko of Germany, Stacey Faust and his significant other Cori of Bethel, Sherrie Mishico and her husband Stanley of Brookfield, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at 10:15 a.m. with a graveside service at 11:00 on Saturday, September 22, at the Elmwood Cemetery, Dodgingtown Rd, Bethel.
