Douglas S. "Doug" Wales, 70, of Grand Island passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Doug's life is planned for 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Doug was born Feb. 7, 1950, at Ainsworth, the son of Sterling and Dortha (Frye) Wales. He moved to Grand Island in the early '70s. He married Belinda Johnson in 1976. The couple divorced in 1996. Doug then married Laurie Connelly.
Doug was employed by Hooker Bros., before he went to work as an over-the-road truck driver, and was driving for BLT Trucking at the time of his death. Trucking was not only his livelihood; he loved the trucking life.
