On Monday, December 14, 2020, Kevin C. Melroy, surrounded by his 6 children, peacefully went home to be with the Lord.
He was born in the summer of 1957 to Elizabeth and Richard Melroy. Kevin was raised in Collegeville with his sister and 4 brothers. He graduated from Perkiomen Valley High School where he was known as an athlete, musician, actor, and friend to all.
Kevin was most recently employed by The County of Montgomery as General Superintendent of Assets and Infrastructure in the Division of Roads and Bridges.
Kevin, often referred to as "Pop Pop the Fisherman" by his grandchildren, loved fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time at his family's cabin. He enriched people's lives as a creative and multi-talented craftsman, artist, athlete, musician, painter, and writer. Kevin had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He was also adventurous and traveled to many places, always blessing others along the way.
He served his country in several branches of the military. He spoke highly of his time in the Air Force administering disaster relief. Most of all, Kevin will be remembered for his loving heart, compassion, and the way he made his friends, loved ones, and even strangers feel special and accepted.
Kevin, a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, cousin, uncle and friend, is survived by his children (and their partners) Seth (Gretchen), Rachel (Michael), Nathanael (Allie), Chrissy (Phil), Hannah (Max), Chloe (Drew); his grandchildren Aiden, Michael, Gannon, Gabriel, Georgia, Eve, Alice, Josie, Arthur, Daisy, Asher, Elijah, Adam, Stella, Alpha, Willow; his mother, Elizabeth; and his siblings Mary, Scott, Michael, Brian, and Paul.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Salvation Army.
Kevin's memorial service will be held at 10:30am on January 25, 2021 at Coventry Church of the Brethren (946 Keen Rd Pottstown, PA). Masks and social distancing will be implemented.
