Ithaca - Beverly Babcock Cleveland, born September 13, 1925 in Ithaca NY passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the age of 92. Bev was the daughter of Thelma Dora Babcock and Leo E. Babcock and was raised primarily by her grandmother, Ethel Marie Walker.

Bev graduated from Ithaca High School in 1943 and married the love of her life, Malvern E. Cleveland in April 1946. Mal later passed away in November 2008. Bev was also predeceased by her two sons, William James Cleveland and Robert Laurence Cleveland. Bev is survived by three grandsons, Jason Cleveland, Stephen Cleveland and Jeremy Cleveland and two great grandchildren, Jordan and Christian Cleveland. In addition, she is survived by daughter-in-law Yolanda Johnson of Newark Valley, NY; her two "verbally adopted" daughters, Teresa Mix and Kathy Carpenter and dear friend, Frank Zgola.

Bev worked for Deanco, Inc. for 22 years where she progressed up the ranks to become the Personnel Manager. Bev retired in 1994 and later moved to Corpus Christi Texas. Bev was fiercely independent and an avid golfer. She obtained her small plane pilot's license and belonged to the 99's pilot club for women. In addition, Bev was also a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Trumansburg, NY.

Bev returned to New York in 2012, living in Trumansburg until recently when she moved into Longview.

Bev had numerous friends during her life - most recently from her bridge group, the St. James church in Trumansburg, and the long time friendships she held dear. Bev was an inspiration to many with her positive outlook and thankfulness for a wonderful life.

A memorial service will be held at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 West Main Street, Dryden, NY on Wednesday May 16th at 11 am. Inunrment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospicare of Ithaca, or to the .
