Frieda E. Diemond

Frieda E. Diemond passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.

She was the daughter of the late Jay B. Leech and Mabel Lane. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clifford H. Diemond; sister, Althea Mather, and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Decker.

Frieda worked for GLS in Ithaca, NY as well as Ithaca Gun Company for several years. She was also a devoted member of the Ithaca Eagle's Club as well as St. Paul's Methodist Church.

Frieda is survived by her loving family: sons, James (Diane) Diemond, William Diemond; grandchildren, Marcy (Nathan) Decker of Springfield, PA, Danielle (Steve) Waight of Ithaca, NY; great-grandsons, Gavon Waight, Payton Waight, Brandon Decker, and Cameron Decker; great-granddaughter, Alyssa Decker, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held at a later date and time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Herson Wagner Funeral Home, 110 S. Geneva Street, Ithaca, NY 14850.

Jimmy, Marcy and Danielle sorry to hear about your Mother and grandmother passing. She will always be in my heart for sure. She was the best daycare giver when I was young, in grade school. She would take care of me when my Mother Helen Morgan would go to work. She made sure to get me to school on time. Many other great memories too, of Christmas, etc. She will be missed and will always hold a spot in my heart forever. RIP Frieda

I am so sorry to learn of Frieda’s passing. I sent her a card for her 100th and had hoped to get to see her. Unfortunately COVID happened and I never got there. She was the best babysitter ever!!
