First of all, I would like to thank all who have taken the time to pay tribute to my beloved wife, Jane.
71 years ago, when at a very young age, I needed direction and stability and understanding, God sent me this beautiful, strong and loving angel who I believe saved my life and made me a far better man than I would have become. Words can not express what she meant to me and our family. She was, in the words of the song I played for her on our 70th wedding anniversary, The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me. Rest in peace ,my beloved, your loving husband, Carl

Sorry for your loss. We knew Jane and carl when they lived in the groton ny area. My husband doug brown was a friend of Carl's. We haven't seen them for many years but john brockway kept us informed on their lives. I remember getting xmas cookies from jane and how beautiful they were and delicious. Prayers for the family to get you through this sad time. ♥ doug and lynn brown

We were cottage neighbours, and heading over to Carl and Jane's next door was always a highlight for me as a young kid. Jane had such a welcoming energy. I hope you can all find small moments of joy during this difficult time.

Carl and Family,

We are sending our love and condolences. We have many fond memories of Jane from her time at White Lake, Ontario. She had such energy and seem able to turn her hand to most jobs. We remember Jane telling us that she would quilt in the car on the long drive from NY to White Lake! We were so honoured to receive one of her famous quilts as a thank you gift. Such a surprise! To this day, any new visitor to the lake is escorted to our bedroom to see her quilt as part of a cottage tour.
Our family also remembers the pizza parties and visits between neighbours and the easy friendship of kindred spirits. We shall miss her .

I’m sending you all my love and prayers. Carol and I grew up together and were roommates at Alfred. So many wonderful memories spending time in your home. Mrs. Abbattista was just so warm and fun. I’m thinking of you at this very difficult time. Laurie Petrillose Joughin

Carl and Jane lived in the cottage next door on White Lake. As a kid I always remember Jane smiling and that she had a great laugh. I remember buying treats to give to her dog Maggie and that she always let us take Maggie around like she was our own dog! My parents still have the beautiful quilt she made for them on their bed at the cottage. Our thoughts go out to her family.

David, I am saddened by your loss. Knowing the kind person you were and are, your Mom (and Dad) must have been wonderful people to raise a son like you. May you be comforted always by strong, happy memories.

We have enjoyed our friendship over the years with Jane and Carl. We loved our get togethers at their home. Jane was a very sweet and loving person. We enjoyed our time sitting with Jane and hearing about her & Carl’s early years together and their travels. Jane also taught us about Northern Ducks. She had a great sense of humor and will be missed all.

The most wonderful friend who took care of me more often than not, taught me all about quilting, put up with me every evening at 5 o’clock for happy hour, shared more Italian meals than I can count, always had so much fun at Enricos threatening not to order stuffed flounder, loved my husband as much as I do and so much more.......don’t know where I would be with out her. I’m gonna really miss you.......love you mom #3.
