Paul D. Andrews

Lansing - Paul D. Andrews, age 89, a longtime resident of Lansing NY, passed away in the early morning hours of December 31, 2020, at the Indiana Masonic Home, Franklin IN. Paul was born on February 5, 1931, in Gang Mills NY to Wilmont and Elizabeth (Sproule) Andrews. Paul attended Northside High School in Corning, NY, and served in the Army during the Korean War. On February 5, 1955, he married Clara Wilson. In 1969 Paul and Clara purchased and moved into 26 Myers Road. There they raised their children and many coonhounds until the property sold in 2019.

Paul retired from Cornell University after 30 plus years of being a glass artisan within the department of Chemistry in Baker Hall. He and Clara retired together and traveled in their conversion van throughout the United States. After retirement, Paul began volunteering with Hospicare & Palliative Care Services of Ithaca and Loaves and Fishes, always willing to serve with a gentle warm hand.

Outside of his love for his family, Paul loved nothing more than a good coonhound. He was a founding member of the Caroline Valley Coon Hunters Association, and member of the Chemung County Coon Hunters Association, Paul was recognized by AKC as a Master of Hounds and Bench Show Judge since 1982. Paul shared his passion for hunting with his grandsons and they would hunt together when they could. With Clara as his driver, they would travel many miles for a good hunt and lots of stories.

Paul is predeceased by his wife of 64 years Clara (Wilson) Andrews; his son Reggie Andrews; his great-grandson Tomas Reeves; siblings: Delores, Marjorie, Betty and Ginny. He is survived by his children Stephanie (Danny) Reeves, Jeff (Lisa) Andrews, Tom Andrews, Bryan (Cindy) Andrews, and Paula (Michael) Aiken. Paul loved and was blessed with 7 grandchildren Doug and Jodi Reeves, Paul and Danielle Aiken, Elizabeth and Mary Andrews, and Hannah Andrews; and 7 great-grandchildren that brought him so much joy in his later years: Lucas, Carmen, Jace, Bryan, Ryder, Ameila and Carson. Also surviving is his brother, David, and many nieces and nephews.

Paul will be deeply missed by all he touched, and those he served. A Celebration of Paul's life will be scheduled at a later date. Gifts in Paul's memory may be directed to Hospicare Care & Palliative Care Services of Ithaca, 173 East King Road, Ithaca NY 14850.

Arrangements are entrusted to Jessen Funeral Homes & Crematory ~ Whiteland Chapel.
