CASE, Richard C. "Dick"

Richard C. "Dick" Case, age 83, of 3 George Street, Dryden, NY, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Cayuga Medical Center. Dick was born in Dryden on February 17, 1931, son of the late Charles and Bernice Anson Case. On March 3, 1951 he was married to Clara (Hulslander) who survives. His working career included Dryden Supply Co., Town of Dryden, and Suit-Kote. He was employed by the Town of Dryden Highway Department for 18 years having retired as the Highway Superintendent, a position that he served in from 1961 to 1975. Dick was a 55 year member of the Dryden Lodge #472 F.A.M. and a life member of the Dryden Fire Department. He enjoyed bowling, flying, golfing, trap & skeet shooting, and driving race cars. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Clara "Tyky" Case of Dryden; his son, Richard C. (Peggy) Case, Jr. of Groton; his daughters, Cheryl (Edward) Drake of Harford, Sharon (Mel) Keech of Dryden, Sherri (Randy) Crispell of Dryden; his sister, Helen (Donald) Marsh of Newark Valley; his brother, Robert (Mary) Case of Groton; a sister-in-law, Sandra Case of Berkshire; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Cecil (Carl) Bush and a brother, Clayton Case. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. David C. Robinson officiating. Burial, delayed, will be in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 4 to 6 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. Members of Dryden Lodge will conduct Masonic Services at 5:45 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials can be directed to the Groton Rod & Gun Club, Dryden Fire Department, or to The or Hospice in memory of his mother, Bernice.
