Joseph John Valentinelli Jr. Obituary
Joseph John Valentinelli, Jr.

Dryden - Joseph John Valentinelli, Jr., It is with great sadness that the family of Joe Valentinelli announce his passing on March 14, 2018 at the age of 83. Joe was born June 9, 1934 in Nanticoke, PA a son of the late Joseph John and Helen Bonner Valentinelli. He graduated from Nanticoke High School and from Mansfield State Teachers College. Joe was married to the former Mary Kathryn Welch and relocated to Dryden, NY where he was a teacher, mentor and coach for 37 years. He loved being the seasonal "visitor" at Christmas time and seeing all the young children's faces light up! Later he was a Dryden Town Justice. Joe was a happy soul who loved his students, his family and his community. His grandsons were the apples of his eye. One of his greatest and proudest moments of his life was riding around town, on his John Deere lawn mower with his grandsons on his lap!

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 1/2 years, Mary, at home, his son, Paul Joseph Valentinelli of Pasco, WA; his daughters, Terri (David) Wood and Lisa Valentinelli both of Dryden; his grandsons, Colin (Trinity Wolford-Frost) Wood and Garrison Valentinelli of Dryden; his sister, Joan (Stan) Makowski and Beverly Hall; nieces and nephews.

A huge thank you to all our friends and family, Dryden Ambulance/ Fire department, Dryden VFW, Dr. McGuire ( CMC),Dr. Davidenko ( CRMC) and all those whom have laughed and loved with him!

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Dryden VFW sign fund or to the Dryden Ambulance/ Fire Department in Big Joe's name.

As Joe loved any kind of celebrations, please join us at the Dryden VFW on Sunday, March 18th from 1-3 to celebrate his life.

Services will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Perkins Funeral Home.
