Donald Joseph Saylor
Donald Joseph Saylor, age 56 of Clarksville, TN, died on Thursday, February 21, 2013.
He was born on May 18, 1956 in Berea, KY. He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Saylor.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m., at Bethel Baptist Church, with Brother Bob Heisinger officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
Donald was a nurse/staff development educator at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and member of Bethel Baptist Church in Cunningham, TN.
He is survived by his mother, Stella Mae Aker of Broadhead, KY; wife, Nancy Saylor of Clarksville, TN; son, Joseph Saylor of Mt. Vernon, KY; two daughters, Sasha Legg of Tipton, IN and Alison Saylor of Vine Grove, KY; two step-daughters, Trisha Kemp and Leslie Gross of Clarksville, TN; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Donald stopped by to see me every time he came over to the hospital. He always had a kind word to me. I felt better after he left. He was a good friend and I still miss him so much.

I have known Don for a long time. I remember how he used to tease me and tell me that I had to do more training. Don made sure that all of us were kept up-to-date on what needed to be done. I extend my very deepest condolences to Don's family. Don and I served together at Meddac prior to retirement. He ALWAYS had a smile on his face. Every time we saw each other, we would still call each other "Sergeant" and then laugh. You will be greatly missed SFC Saylor!!

We will miss Don so very much. He was a dear friend and always there for me. We exchanged emails with jokes and encouraging words for each other. He was wonderful to work with and always willing to help people. Always had a smile and friendly words for everyone he came in contact with. There will never be a replacement for him.
