LAKELAND - Anne Larsen died peacefully on Saturday, May 12th, 2018. She was 92.
Although she was born in Zeeland Holland, got married and raised her children in Canada and California, she considered Lakeland her home. She loved art and the study of languages. After her kids were in school, she went back to college, first to study art and then to complete her Bachelor's degree in Linguistics from Pitzer College in Claremont, CA. In Lakeland, she became a translator working in the phosphate industry and became a substitute French teacher at Lakeland Senior High.
Anne volunteered every year at the Sun & Fun, welcoming visitors from all over the world. Anne was always generous with her time helping at the Children's Clothes Closet through the First United Methodist Church.
Anne leaves behind 3 children (Pete, Mon-ique & Greg) and 4 grandchildren (Danielle, Caroline, Ryan and Bryce.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to her favorite charity, the ASPCA.
