Alberto Vela Obituary
Mr. Vela was born in La Grulla, TX and lived in Edinburg most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dionicio and Sara Vela; two brothers, Ramon Vela, Guadalupe "Lupe" Vela; two sisters, Olivia Ramirez and Lucy Rodriguez.
Mr. Vela is survived by his loving wife, Maria Alicia Vela of Edinburg; a daughter, Sylvia Vela of Edinburg; four sisters, Ninfa Ramirez of McAllen, Socorro Reyna of Freeport, TX, Jesusa Cerda of Coppell, TX, Zulema Salinas of Mission; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, March 28, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 12 noon Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.

Beto was my Uncle. May he fly high with the Angels and rest in peace. He was a kind and gentle man. I regret I cannot be there for his funeral, but he and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.
