Gayle Shoup-Frost Obituary

Longtime mid-Michigan resident, Gayle Shoup-Frost, passed away on March 7, 2021. Gayle was born and raised in northern California. She enlisted in the Army in 1971 and served in Texas and Alaska. There she was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service. After marrying,she moved to Michigan where she raised her children, worked, and continued her education. Gayle graduated from Central Michigan University in 2000. Gayle loved her children, traveling, hand crafts, history and animals. A life-long learner, libraries were her favorite places to be. She had a kind heart and never had a negative attitude towards anyone. Gayle is survived by her three children—Erika, Wesley, and Travis, five grandchildren, four siblings, and a myriad of cousins scattered throughout the United States. In memory of Gayle and her love of animals, donations can be made to the Humane Animal Treatment Society (HATS) at https://www.hatsweb.org/

Gayle was a regular patron at TA Cutler Library in St Louis for years. I enjoyed our conversations. I have noticed that she has not been in for some time. I have missed seeing her. Godspeed Gayle.

Gayle and I made many memories over many years. I loved her and pray peace and comfort for her family especially Erika, Wesley and Travis.
