Davis, Jack E. age 86, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the Woodland Hospice House. Funeral Services for Jack will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, February 9, at 11 a.m. with Benjamen Evers officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. A Luncheon will be held at the VFW Post 3033 following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Commission on Aging or Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel. Jack was born on February 7, 1931, in Nelson County, PA, the son of George and Lela (Lamp) Davis. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Jack married Shirley Lou Durfee on November 6, 1954, at the Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant. Throughout Shirley and Jack's life together, they have traveled across the United States to Florida, South Carolina, Idaho, and Virginia. Jack worked for Dow Chemical in the paint shop and service station for 34 years, retiring in 1990. Jack was a huge supporter of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sports teams and the number 1 fan of the Beal City Aggies and the Drillers softball teams. He was a member of the VFW Post 3033 and enjoyed bowling, hunting, and fishing. Jack is survived by his children, Sandy Rupp of Vero Beach, FL, Connie (Mack) Woodbury of Beal City, and John (Elaine) Davis of Mt. Pleasant; 10 grandchildren, Kristy Thomas, Terri Robinson, Tim Woodbury, Melissa Tillotson, Jaclyn Woodbury, Chelsea and Alesha Davis, Amanda, Jack, and Heather Wiggins; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Glenda McKillip of Mt. Pleasant and Norma Lee Straka of Harrison; and his loving dogs, Peanut and Shirley. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley in 2010; daughter, Jackie Wiggins; son, Terry Davis; parents; and siblings, Merle Davis, Herbert Davis, and Wilma Conklin.
