Marjorie L. Keene Obituary
Keene, Marjorie L. 81, of Winn, Michigan, died on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Green Acres Assisted Living, Mt. Pleasant. Marge was born March 4, 1936 to Archie and Alta (Ramsdill) Courser in Blanchard. She married Kenneth Keene on April 7, 1956. Marge graduated from Blanchard High School in 1954. She spent most of her working career at Central Michigan University, retiring in 1989 from her position as Registration Coordinator. Marge and Kenny had three children: Patti (and Lee) Hohlbein, Robert Keene, and Richard Keene; five grandchildren whom they dearly loved: Kimberly (and Jason) Ellis, Andy Hohlbein (Lindsay Acker), Alana and Cole Keene, and Elyse (Dustin) Thren; and three great-grandchildren that were very special to them, Gabrielle Catherine, Lucian Dayton, and Amara Quinn Ellis. She is also survived by a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law Charles and Carole Keene, and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Marge and Ken spent winters in Bradenton, Florida for 25 years, where they had many very close friends. Marge was a very creative craftsperson and seamstress, and an excellent cook. Even though she frequently worked long hours at her job, she never failed to provide everything her family needed. Marge was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in 2014, son Rob in 1981, parents Archie and Alta, beloved parents-in-law Duane and Coral Keene, sisters Florence Howard, Esther Rahl, Thelma Kremsreiter, and Elsie Culver, and brothers Richard (Dick), Robert (Bob), and Harold (Bud) Courser, as well as as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2018 at Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd. Private graveside services will be held at Union Cemetery, Fremont Township. Friends wishing an expression of sympathy may consider the Isabella County Commission on Aging or the . The family wants to thank the very special and dedicated caregivers at Green Acres for their loving and attentive care of our mother over the past few months. Also a special thank you to Michelle, Penny and Jodie of Mid-Michigan Hospice for their kind and considerate care over the last few weeks.
