On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at 4:30 pm, Ronald Edmond Jacob Sr., at age 84, passed away peacefully after fighting a long battle from a chronic blood disease. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict (combination 8 years) veteran/ LA Air National Guard 159th Fighter Wing from 1952-1990. He served his country for 37 years and retired as Senior Master Sergeant. Beloved husband of Winnie Whitman Jacob, his loving, caring, wonderful, constant friend and companion for 60 years. He is also survived by his always loving and caring children, Ronald Edmond Jacob Jr. (Jeanne), Brent Harold Jacob, and Darren Ernest Jacob (Wendy); loving grandchildren, René Shawn Jacob (Melissa), Ryan Christopher Jacob (Rachelle), and Carson Reed Jacob; two great-grandchildren, Lucy René Jacob and Mia Rylee Jacob and new baby on the way; loving brother, Curtis Jacob and sister-in-law Olga; sister, Yolande and brother-in-law Ronald St. Pierre; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claus Jacob Sr. and Rena Giroir Jacob; and brother, Claus Jacob Jr. Ronnie was a native of Reserve, La., a former resident of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Kenner, La. Parishioner of St. Christopher the Martyr Catholic Church. He enjoyed a good long life with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved being with his family and loved his twice a year fishing trips to Lake Concordia in northern Louisiana with his military buddies. Ronnie wanted to make a note of thanks to Gillis Branch, his beloved caregiver and his dog, Sallie Marie. He also wanted to give a special thanks to Dr. Archie Brown at Benson Ochsner Oncology Center, along with his wonderful nurse, Amanda for their continued care over the past 4 years, Dr. P. William Brown, his primary care doctor and nurse Lashanda, for there caring support over the past 21 years, and Frieda and her staff from the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner on Monday, December 4, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie.
