Darrell "D" Mexic passed away at Ochsner Hospital in Jefferson, La., on Monday morning, September 25, 2017 at the age of 51. Darrell was born in New Orleans, La., and was a lifelong resident of Metairie, La. "Grasshopper" worked on a shrimp boat, the "Tina Marie" out of Lafitte, La., with Captain Chris Wertz, for over 10 years. His passions were eating crawfish with his loving and beloved daughter Magan, riding his Harley, being outside, and being on the water. Darrell is now with his loving Harley "Bittee Dude" Mexic, his dog. He is at peace with his late parents, David Herman Mexic and Marie Riggio Mexic. He is survived by his daughter Magan Shea Mexic; his brother Dale Mexic of Tennessee; and his sister Debbie Maenza of Louisiana. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass begins at Noon, on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at St. Christopher Church, 3900 Derbigney St., Metairie, LA. In Lieu of Flowers, Donations may be made to St. Christopher Church. Arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home in Covington, LA 985-875-1131.
