David L. Hatch Jr. Obituary
David L. Hatch Jr passed away at his home Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in River Ridge, Louisiana at the age of 90. He was born in Arlington, Kentucky to the late David and Dorothy Hatch. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Florence L. Hatch. He was loving father of David R. Hatch, Evelina Crawford and Lizabeth Hatch along with daughter-in-law Sandra Hatch and sons-in-law James Crawford and Kevin Neyrey. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jamie, Ben, David and Marc; his great-grandson, Cameron; his two sisters: Dottie H. Badeaux of Metairie and Carolyne H. Lacombe of Indiana; his brother-in-law, Karl Badeaux of Metairie; a sister-in-law, Margaret Lawrence of Covington; and 8 nieces and nephews. David lived most of his life in New Orleans and was a resident of River Ridge for the past 62 years. He graduated from Tulane University with a BS in Business in 1954. He began his career in finance that same year with a job at Peat, Marwick, and Mitchell. He went on to work at Jax Brewery, Tidewater Marine and McDermott. He retired in 1993 and developed interests in sailing, gardening and cooking. He always had an interesting story, a quick wit and a thirst for knowledge. He was the rock of his family and had great love for his children and their children. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Garden of Memories, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA, on Saturday, January 19, 2019. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 noon with a Memorial to follow at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to New Orleans Children's Hospital, 200 Henry Clay Ave., New Orleans, LA 70118 or www.chnola.org.
