Joycelyn Driscoll Cheramie passed away on June 20, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer at the age of 63. A child of God. She was the devoted and beloved wife of Henry J. Cheramie. Mother and best friend of Jeannie W. Wildey (Scott). Stepmother of Henry "Mike" Cheramie (Tammy) and Chad Anthony Cheramie. Loving grandmother (grammy) of Austin Scott Wildey and Joshua Michael Cheramie. Daughter of Walter E. Driscoll Jr. and the late Joyce B. Gleason Driscoll. Step daughter of the late Aurelia D. Driscoll, Step grand daughter of Helen Danelli. Devoted sister of Robert E. Driscoll (Lynn), Victoria Driscoll Williams (Walter), Catherine Driscoll Verdin (Anthony), and the late Randolph Driscoll. She had many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, all who lovingly called her "Nanny." Above all, she loved the Lord and was well prepared to meet him. At the death of her mother at a young age, she became the matriarch of the family, a role she cherished and bravely accepted. She loved life and fought bravely until the end, never giving up her faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Joycelyn was a Realtor for 32+ years, the last 10 with Remax Real Estate Partner's Westbank Office. She was a professional who through the years touched the lives of countless area residents and many fellow Realtors, all of whom loved her because of her compassion for others and her kind and gentle personality. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service from the Chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero LA on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Mom a week has passed since you entered Heaven's gate! I miss you so much already! The talks, laughs and crying we did over the last few months. You were the best Mother, friend, mentor I could ever have and I pray that God allows you to shine through me. The flowers you received and the people that came to your service was amazing. You were so loved and respected. I am glad that you are no longer suffering. The past few months were hard for me to watch but you kept strong! Never complained and even apologized to the nurses, dr's and all of us that cared for you. My sweet Mother was still worried about others during her last days! May God guide me and give me the strength ! Love you so much Mom! Our song keeps playing in my mind over and over. When one of us is gone and one of us is left to carry on , remembering will have to do , our memories along will get us through. Think about the days of me and you.. You and me against the world! I love you Mommy ! And I know you are saying in Heaven . I love you too baby!

Joycelyn started off as my real estate agent four years ago, and became like a member of my family since that day. We called her a realtor mama. She was one of the most loving, passionate, caring people I have ever met. She may not have been my blood, but I loved her as if she was. She touched my heart and my soul with kindness. And I shall never forget the wonderful woman she was. My heart goes out to all of her loved ones and she is truly a treasure to all who's life's she touched.

What else can be said about this wonderful woman of god! Joycelyn was such a loving, caring, gentle and compassionate person who touched the lives of many. We were truly blessed to have her as a part of our family. It seems like only yesterday that she was standing by my side comforting me at my mother's funeral. Joycelyn, with her usual beautiful smiling face, was telling me just how much of a blessing my mother was to her and thanking me. Well...I can only imagine the excitement in heaven when they met again! My sincerest condolences to Jeannie and the entire family, I know she is going to be greatly missed, but what a blessing she was and what wonderful memories we all have! Remembering everyone in our prayers.

Mr. Henry, Jeannie and family, Eileen and I met Joycelyn before we were married about 29 years ago for our first home purchase. From that time she became known as "mom" and she referred to us as her "kids". She became a life long friend and she helped us with our next three homes. She became a family friend and we loved her dearly. We used to love running into her at one of her favorite pastimes, the casinos. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and wish joycelyn the happiest of times in heaven where she was always ready to go. Joycelyn, rest comfortably in the arms of all those who have been waiting for you in heaven!!

Hi Jeannie and family,

I had the pleasure of meeting Joycelyn back in the 80s. She helped me with many property sales. During this time, we built a very special friendship. We both loved the Lord and Joyceln showed it through her daily life. She told me on multiple occasions how much she admired me and loved me. I was not expecting that the first time she said it, because I was so much feeling the same about her. She touched the very depths of my heart. When we spoke on the phone, we often regretted the time we did not take out of our daily lives to actually spend time with each other. This has taught me a very valuable lesion. I will sincerely try to make the effort to spend as much time with all my friends and loved ones in the future. I will surely miss Joycelyn, I loved her so much.

Joycelyn, I'am really going to miss you! You were a bright light for all who knew you. Your magnetic personality and effervescent smile were legendary. The love and dedication you had for your family was inspiring. You were a great Realtor who truly loved both the people you came in contact with and the job.
I' am sure that everyone who knows you feels a great loss by your passing but feel grateful that you are in a better place, with the LORD, free of pain and suffering.
To Joycelyns' family I want to say it has been a blessing for me to know and love all of you and I am so sorry for your loss.

There are no words to express the loss I feel at Joycelyn's passing. Joycelyn was the most compassionate, gentle, loving, and empathetic person I have ever known.
