Kathleen Louisa Rees, 85, passed away peacefully Friday, February 2, 2018, at the Hospice of Piedmont in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was born June 15, 1932, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Harold and Tina Roberts and is survived by her brothers Jimmy and Billy. For 62 years she was an unwavering companion to her husband Terry Rees, who passed on October 28, 2017. She gave her all to her five children, Christina Rees, Travis Greenman, Katie Sundby, Taylor Rees and Harold Rees. Ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren were lucky to have had her as their grandmom. As a child she went to Sacred Heart in New Orleans, then to England with tutors, followed by Westover for high school and capped off by college at the University of Colorado. She moved and changed as needed in her married life, buoying up her children and husband throughout all of life's ups and downs. She will be remembered by friends and family as a spirited, intelligent, generous, graceful and unforgettable individual. She was a joyful and integral member of every community she lived in, and no one could meet her without being touched in some way. Her insightful nature allowed her to make real connections with those she met, giving meaning to the phrase "larger than life" as she filled up any room she entered. She will be truly missed, but her influence will live on through the many who loved her. A small service will be held at West End Methodist in Nashville on March 17th at 2 p.m. arrangements are pending. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to either the Hospice of Piedmont (www.hopva.org) or to the Alzheimer's Association.

We were so sad to read of KK's death as well as Terri's. KK was a NO friend and her husband was in our wedding and a classmate in Tulane Medical school.
