Robert "Bob, Bobby, Bob-O" Hamblen, 77, resident of Diamondhead, MS, passed away suddenly on December 31, 2018. Bob was born in the Panama Canal Zone on July 5, 1941. Bob was the beloved husband of Eileen Hamblen for 29 years, father of Tiffany Hamblen Green (Bob), JP Patrolia Jr. (Christie), and Jennifer Hamblen Alphonse (Ronnie), and brother of Terry Hamblen (Leigh). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Angel, Love, Michael, Greyson, Taylor, Braden, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Robert Lee and Eola DeLeon Hamblen. After more than 28 years of federal service, Bob retired from the USDA, National Finance Center in 2001. Prior to his federal service, he worked at Boeing and Lockheed Martin as a systems developer on the space program. He graduated from Tulane University with a degree in Business Administration. In his free time he found much joy spending time with his family and in being a member of the Krewe of Endymion, Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day Marching Club, the Pete Fountain Half-Fast Walking Club, and the semi-annual golf tournaments bearing his name. Bob maintained lifelong friendships and touched the lives of all who met him with his big heart, gentleness, kindness, generosity and sense of humor. He lived life to the fullest and always had a smile on his face. He will be deeply missed by his family and all of those whose lives he touched. Once befriended by Bob you were welcomed as a part of his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Jacob's Well Baptist Church, 29554 Vic Faye Road, Pass Christian, MS 39571. Memorial visitation begins at 10:00 am followed by a Church Service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to Jacob's Well Baptist Church.
