Sandra Ann Bowser Williams was born on September 4, 1960. She was the daughter of Ella Mae Bowser and the late Samuel Washington. She was the fourth child of six brothers and sisters. She entered into eternal rest on December 30, 2018. Sandra was baptized at an early age by Rev. Dave Snowden at Third Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She later became a member of New Israel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Douglas Haywood. Sandra was an active member of New Israel's Usher Ministry. Sandra was the owner of Sandra's Addiction Sweet Shop. She was a member of the Original 9th Ward Divas, Dynasty Lades and Mardi Gras Divas. Sandra was known as "Lulu," Black Girl" and "Ms. Keep It Real." She was loved by many. Sandra participated whole heartedly in everything she did; if it was helping in the community, church, club, family or friends. Sandra was a doer, believer and definitely a Diva. Sandra is survived by her mother, Ella Mae Bowser; lifetime loving companion Rene Blake; three sons Charles and Antoine Williams, and Cedrick Bowser; her dog Magnolia; grandkids and great-grandkids; one Godchild, one sister, Alice Bowser, and two brothers, Edward (Mary) Bowser and Samuel Bowser. She is also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Washington; her brother Melvin Bowser and a sister Lillie Mae Dorsey. Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors, Officers and members of New Israel Baptist Church are invited to attend a funeral service at 9:00 AM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at New Israel Baptist Church, 6322 St. Claude Ave. Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM.
