Rose Anne Hammack Porta, age 74, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, February 23, 2018. Rose Anne will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband and best friend of 54 years, Sandor Jozsef Porta and her children, Julie Ann Wright (Jerry), Maria Lorraine Tanzini (Scott) and Sandor Joseph (Michelle). She had a strong unconditional love for her grandchildren: Robert Joseph, Robin Lynn, Katelyn Rose, Brittany Marie and Alexander Joseph. She will also be remembered by her loving sister, Elizabeth Hammack Hahn (Randy); her nieces, Amy, Ashley and Gabrielle Hahn; her nephew, Andrew Hammack; great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Rose Anne is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Carter Hammack and Mamie Spano Hammack and her brother, Donald A. Hammack. She was a licensed cosmetologist for most of her younger years. As she became a mother, she devoted her time to taking care of her children. She loved spending time with her family and her last few weeks were spent the way she wanted - with her family and friends surrounding her at home. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The online guestbook is available is at www.gardenofmemoriesmetairie.com.
