Kelly Steven Hereford, son of Van Buren Hereford and Mary Carter Hereford, was given the gift of life on February 5, 1959 and gave it back on June 9, 2017. He is preceded in death by his devoted father, and survived by his mother Mary Carter Hereford, sister Debbie Hereford Drude, his wife Susan King Hereford, sons John Van (Jack) Hereford, and Charles Steven (Charlie) Hereford. After battling with Parkinson's disease for 15 years, Kelly died in his home from a heart attack. He was 58 years old. Kelly was born in Beaumont, Texas then moved to Baton Rouge at age 5 where he attended Broadmoor Elementary, Middle and High school. Kelly excelled at many things, but found his passion in his friends and music. He was an accomplished musician in high school and at LSU, made better by those closest to him (you know who you are). He received his BA from LSU in 1992, went on to a successful career in pharmaceutical sales, and ultimately found joy starting and operating his own companies. There will be a memorial service for a celebration of his life on July 8, 2017, at Rayne United Methodist Church, 3900 St Charles Avenue. Visitation starts at 1:00 PM with a service immediately following at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please offer one act of random kindness in honor of Kelly.
