Richard D. Ickes
TOLEDO: Richard D. Ickes, Sr., 69 of Toledo, died on Sunday September 30, 2012 at his home. He was born on September 18, 1943 in Fremont to Robert L. and Leola (Brink) Ickes.
Richard was a 1962 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He worked as a quality control person at the Ford stamping plant in Maumee, OH, retiring in 2005. Richard was a member of the UAW and a former member of the Horseman Council of Sandusky County. He loved Corvettes, animals and model cars.
Surviving are his children, Dawn (Brock) Kimmet, Richard Ickes, Jr., Charles (Michelle) Ickes and Tonya (Brian Good) Ickes all of Fremont; sister, Roberta L. Ickes;seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wanda L. Hay; and brother, Donald C. Ickes.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 3-6 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home following visitation on Wednesday.
Donations in Richard's memory may be made to the Sandusky County Humane Society or to the American Heart Association.

To my whole family so sorry to hear about Richard we have been out of state so long didn't get to enjoy any of your family but when we did come home Richard talk to us like we were never gone he will be missed god bless and love all you.

Dear Ickes family,
I am sorry for your loss. I remember that years ago, when he first moved to the neighborhood, my mom used to joke/nag with Dick about wearing his motorcycle helmet. He probably didn't enjoy it too much, but was nice to her anyway. Please rely on his neighbors if you should need anything, and please accept our sympathy for your loss.
