Dear Ella Mae, I'm thinking of you tonight and know how broken hearted you have to be. My last memory of Bob will be at the MFH Banquet on his birthday and how i wished we had sang to him. At least we wished him a Happy Birthday. He was one of my favorites. God Bless you and your family.

Ella Mae, Kathy, Campbell, and all of your family, Jim and I send our prayers and heartfelt sympathy to you. We are sad for us, to have lost such a wonderful friend, and what a gift to the community and state he was. We feel like we have lost a member of our family, since our families have been friends for over 70 years. What a blessing to have known Bob, loved seeing him at the Glendale Alumni dinners in his red sweater with white shirt. He wore the colors well and was such a great example of how we should live.

He will be missed greatly,
Nancye and Jim Shutt, Murray, KY

I have a wonderful Bob Wade story. Having been raised in Hardin County, KY, I knew the name Bob Wade. Way back when my children were in grade school, Ronnie and I lived in Dyersburg, TN. One adventuresome day, we loaded up the Grumman canoe and headed to the Black River (I think it was) in Arkansas. Sure enough, we tipped the darn thing over going down rapids. I panic easily anyway, but that time I was beside myself, afraid and I my 2 children would drown. I came up for a breath, looked downstream, and saw our daughter drifting away from us, yelling like crazy. Then I saw a man in a canoe rescue her. On the back of his orange life vest, it said "Bob Wade, Glendale, KY". I truly thought for a split second that I'd died and gone to Heaven, to have come upon someone states away from Hardin County. He was very nice to us. He was our guardian angel that day, and I'll always be grateful. RIP.
