Olline N. Killian

Funeral services for Mrs. Olline N. Killian, 86, will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at First Baptist Church Crowville with the Revs. William Busby, Terry Ganey and Keith Dowden officiating. Interment will follow at Crowville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home.

Mrs. Killian passed from this life on Friday December 7, 2012 at Rapides Regional Medical Center Alexandria after a brief illness. She was born August 15, 1926 in Crowville and was a graduate of Crowville High School and Bish-Mathis Institute in Monroe. She served as executive secretary of the Northeast Soil and Water Conservation district for many years, active in the state and federal Ladies Auxiliary of Conservation Districts.

Her travels with this group took her to a memorable tea with First Lady Pat Nixon and the embarking ceremony, at the White House in 1972 on the day President Nixon left for his historic first trip to China.

Olline founded O.Killian realty in 1986 and built her agency to one of the largest in the Delta. She ran her business with honest and integrity and opened many perversely closed doors to hundreds of families first homes.

She ran her business with the same passion with which she loved her large extended family. She love to travel and extensively did so; she especially enjoyed her fall trips to New England with her late husband. She was a faithful and lifetime member of First Baptist Church Crowville.

Mrs. Killian was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Phil Killian, her parents Florence and Jake Netherland, her brothers Herman, Cedell, Lattniss, Woodie, J. H., C. M., and Oneal Netherland; sisters Vaudie King, Cora Avis Wilkerson and Verdue Hardin.

She is survived by her sons Phillip Killian of Wisner and Tommy Killian of Crowville; sisters-in-law Catherine Netherland of Tulsa, OK and Dodie Procissi of Broken Arrow, OK; brother-in-law Robert Hardin of Tyler, Texas; also by best friends first cousin Mary Alice Parsons of Monroe and niece Pat King of Crowville; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Pallbearers will be Steve Hardin, J. R. Netherland, Jake Netherland, Steve Pylant, Tim Pylant and Don Riser.

Visitation will be at the church after 12:00 noon until time of service.
