Newellton - A graveside funeral service will be held for Faye Iles Hawkins, age 94, on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at 2 P.M. at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton, Louisiana. Services will be under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Louisiana, with Bro. Larry W. Foster officiating.

Faye Hawkins passed away at her residence in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on August 9, 2018. She was a native of Shreveport and she resided in Newellton for 64 years prior to moving to Baton Rouge.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Ed, and attending the many extracurricular activities of their grandchildren. She attended the Newellton Union Church and was a member of the DAR Bruin-Vidal Chapter.

Faye is survived by her children; Nancy Hawkins Greig and husband Jerry; Jeri Hawkins Shread; Skip Hawkins and wife Olivia. She is survived by her six grandchildren, each who had a favorite and special place in her heart; Jake Greig and wife Tory, Kelly Greig Durio and husband Brad, Andy Shread and wife Hannah, Mary Margaret Shread and husband Derek, Kate Hawkins Copes and husband Bruce, and William Hawkins. She had 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Nell McDonald and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ed Hawkins, her brother, David Iles, and parents, Mattie and David Iles.

Pallbearers are Jake Greig, Andy Shread, William Hawkins, Bruce Copes, Derek Overby, Brad Durio, Tim Bradley, Buzz Bradley, and Randy McDonald.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers, staff, and nurses of Amber Terrace Assisted Living and Audubon Hospice of Baton Rouge. Special thanks to Carrie and Kippi for their loving care.
