West Monroe - Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Larry Gaston Rutledge, 70, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 14, 2018, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Dr. Randy Burdeaux and Rev. Jordy McKaskle officiating. Interment will follow in the Rutledge Cemetery in West Monroe, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Rutledge was born on December 31, 1947 and passed away on September 11, 2018 at his residence in West Monroe, LA. Larry lived on the same piece of ground for 70 years, raising cattle and training horses for himself and for others. He was delighted in spending time playing catch with his grandsons. Larry was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He served as president of the Ouachita Parish Farm Bureau, was past president and charter member of the Louisiana Stock Horse Association, and past board member of the Louisiana Agri-Business Council. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaston E. "Shorty" Rutledge and Juanita Joy Peacock Rutledge; and brother, Wayne Hardwick.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Dale McKaskle Rutledge; sons, Gabriel B. Rutledge and Zachary Rutledge and wife, Jessica; grandsons, Porter and Jesse Rutledge; and his brother, Steve Rutledge and wife, Dianne.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Rutledge, Tim Peacock, Guy Owens, Todd Hilburn, Jack Rutledge, and David Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Butch Oaks, Reggie Owens, Eddie White, Dr. Glen Rhodes, Scott McKaskle, and Tommy Smith.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. into 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Patrick F. Taylor in New Orleans, LA.
