Mer Rouge - MER ROUGE, LA. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lou Parker will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Bonita Road Baptist Church of Mer Rouge. Services will be officiated by Reverends Casey Johnson, Reggie Kirkman, and Ron Vollmar officiating. Committal services and burial will follow at the Mer Rouge Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 8th, at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

Mary Lou Womack Parker was born on February 14, 1927 at Oak Grove, Louisiana to the late Ruby Butler Womack and Rufus Womack. She passed away peacefully November 5, 2019 at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana. Mary Lou is also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, T. J. Parker; five sisters, and four brothers.

A longtime resident of Mer Rouge, Mary Lou was an active member of her community, the Mer Rouge Baptist Church, and Bonita Road Baptist Church at Mer Rouge. She was a retired office manager at Parker Chevrolet and Oak Woods Health and Rehabilitation. She was also a member of TWIGS, the Oak Woods Ladies Auxillary. Above all Mary Lou was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was loved by all fortunate to know her.

Mary Lou is survived by her three children, Pamela Parker Kirkman and husband, Reggie, Cynthia Parker Aycock and husband, George, Ted Parker and wife, Rhonda Gentry Parker. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Mary Hassell and husband, Richard, Rebekah Goehler, Vince Baria and wife, Mary Brooke, Bonnie Hall and husband, Billy, Emily Cage and husband, Shelby, Amanda Hogan and husband, Jeremy, and Millicent Parker; fifteen great-grandchildren; beloved lifelong friend, Jean Blackard; sitter, Renita Morgan; and devoted rescue dogs and companions, Puddin and Penny.

Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Hogan, Shelby Cage, Richard Hassell, Vince Baria, Austin Hobson, and Dawson Blackard.

For those who wish, the family suggest any planned memorials be made to the Bonita Road Baptist Church at Mer Rouge, 7204 Pine Grove Loop, Bastrop, Louisiana 71220.
