William Donker Obituary

Donker, William G.

William G. Donker passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 28, 2013. He was born on January 10, 1943, to the son of the late William and Louise (Nigl) Donker.

Bill was a graduate of Oshkosh High School in 1961. He then served in the United States Navy followed by technical school in Madison. He was employed by Basler Flight Service and Basler Turbo Conversions LLC for over 30 years as an avionics technician before retiring at Gulfstream Aerospace.

Bill had a passion for the outdoors and was a true outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, golf, snowmobile, ride his Harley Davidson and relax at the home in Armstrong Creek, WI. He was always the life of the party with his witty personality and enjoyed living life to the fullest. He lived for the moment. Bill was a great friend, mentor, brother, uncle, and father and will be sadly missed by all.

He is survived by his son, Scott (Allison) Donker and their children; daughters, Sheri Donker and her son, Laurie (Tom Tuttle) Donker; and Kristin (Chris Amundson) Donker; brothers, James (Casey) Donker and Michael (Darlene) Donker; and sisters, Mary (David) Rapp, Carla (Carl Sosnoski) Nigl, Susan (James) Schroeder and Victoria Sadoff; special friend, Shelly Streckert; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Bill will be Saturday, February 2, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. in the Poklasny Funeral Home, the Rev. Annette Wolf officiating, followed by full military honors. Family and friends may call at the Funeral Home Saturday, from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a Memorial has been established.

Bill will be "Forever In Blue Jeans" and forever in our hearts and memories.

Not sure what to say?

A day doesn't go by big bother that I don't think about you, we sure had some great times together, hunting, fishing and golfing. Hunting will never be the same without you but I feel you next to me evertime I walk the fields for pheasants or lay in blinds waiting for those mallards to drop in on us. Rest in peace bother

The last time we saw Bill was at Dale Egnoski's funeral. This was only a few days before the accident. It's hard to
believe this happened. He was a good friend. Our hearts are with the family.

Last time we got to see Bill was at our 50th class reunion. It was a beautiful summer evening and we will always remember him down his leather jacket, throw his leg over his Harley and ride off with his friend on the back of the bike with that grin he always had. That's how we will always remember him.

To the outside world we all grow old, but not to our brothers and sisters, we know each other as we always were.
We know each others hearts,we share private family jokes.
We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs, and joys.
We live outside the touch of time.
We love and miss you already.

Bill you always treated me like a son. I will never forget our talks over morning coffee nor your insightful advice with afternoon drinks. You were a great inspiration on how life should be lived. I wish we would have had more time together, but I feel very lucky to have spent the past couple years living with you. The most comforting knowledge I have today is the conversation we just had just last week. You told me that if you were to die today, you would die a very happy man. Sadly it came so soon, but that should bring peace to everyone who knew you. I will miss you dearly.
