Bock, Robert "Bob" E.
Robert "Bob" E. Bock, age 83, of Galva, IL, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI, with his family by his side.
Bob was born August 1, 1929, in St. James, MN, the son of Rudolf and Laura (Wolter) Bock. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1947. Bob entered the Air Force Academy in 1950 and served as an aviation cadet in the US during the Korean War. On April 19, 1952, Bob married Arlene Patszlberger at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. He spent one year at the Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam and 2 ½ years at UW Madison. Bob also attended the Insurance Institute where he earned his Master's Degree and nine credits towards his PHD. Bob owned a beer distributorship from 1959 to 1962 and later that year got into the insurance business. Later in life, he owned a credit card processing business until he passed. Bob and his wife, Arlene lived in Beaver Dam until moving to Wautoma in 1967. They then moved to Galva, IL in the '90's. He was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewanee, IL and a former Chairman of Elders.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Bock of Galva, IL; one sister, Betty (Conrad) Bartol of Citrus Springs, FL; two nieces, Brenda (Ron) Spaeth of Campbellsport, WI and Patty Heying of Germantown, WI; two nephews, Tony (Chris) Bartol of Plymouth, WI and Ben (Dawn) Bartol of Menasha, WI; eight great-nephews, Nick (Briana) Spaeth of Plymouth, WI, Mitch (Katie) Spaeth of Washington, MO, Will Amacher of Oshkosh, WI, Lucas Amacher of La Crosse, WI, Joey Heying of Germantown, WI, Arik Bartol of Carson City, MI, T.C. (Brittany) Bartol of Fremont, WI and Sam Bartol of Menasha, WI; one great-niece, Abby Bartol of Menasha, WI; one great-great-nephew, Nolan Spaeth of Washington, MO and two great-great-nieces, Claire Spaeth of Plymouth, WI and Harper Spaeth of Plymouth, WI. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Wayne in 2006 and his sister, Delores in 2012.
Visitation for Bob Bock will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013, from 10 - 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2450 West 9th Ave., Oshkosh, WI 54904.
Memorial service for Bob Bock will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013, at 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Reverend Roger A. Erdman will officiate. Inurnment will be held at Highland Memorial Gardens in Beaver Dam. A memorial is being established in his name.

RIP Bob - You were a good man and probably the greatest optimist I ever met. We sure took some interesting trips together. My sympathy to Arlene and all of the Bock family.
