Elaine Muza Obituary

Muza, Elaine J.

Elaine J. Muza, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Monday morning, November 12, 2012, at Westbrooke Manor with her family by her side. Elaine was born in Oshkosh, WI, on November 6, 1930, the daughter of the late George and Anna Marie (Hanneman) Hartman. She was married to Leo A. Muza and together they had five children. Elaine's greatest legacy was her family. Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and most importantly, friend. Elaine's greatest joy was giving the gift of life to her five children and raising her family. She was the rock of her family and the most kind and selfless person. Elaine would do anything and everything for her family, which reflected that she was not only a beautiful person on the outside, but most importantly, within. She was a picture of iron-willed strength and always encouraged her family to reach for their goals to carve out their own individual places in this world. She was their guiding light, their source of inspiration, and their unfailing support. Her family's goals were her goals, and she would do everything to help them stay on the right path and achieve them. Her smile, her laughter, and her sense of humor will be truly missed.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Leo; three daughters, Patricia (Dr. John) Lorfeld, Susan (Wayne) Traska both of Oshkosh, WI; and Ann (Dave) Koveck of Menomonee Falls, WI; her two sons, Thomas Muza of Dale, WI; and Robert Muza of Midland, TX; seven granddaughters, Paula (Bret) Hamer of Oshkosh, WI; Dr. Karen Lorfeld of Indianapolis, IN; Jaime (Eric) McGuan of Menasha, WI; Jessica Muza of Oshkosh, WI; Rachel and Meg Traska of Oshkosh, WI; and Adrianna Koveck of Menomonee Falls, WI; three grandsons, Lt. David Lorfeld of Slidell, LA; Alec Koveck of Menomonee Falls, WI; and Jackson Traska of Oshkosh, WI; and three great-grandchildren, Lukas and Nikolas Hamer of Oshkosh, WI; and Gavin McGuan of Menasha, WI. Elaine was preceded in death by her six brothers, William, Albert, Raymond, Walter, Edward and her twin brother Ralph and three sisters, Helen Hoppe, Delores Popke and Lillian Hartman. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Elaine's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Aurora Hospice for their comfort and loving care and for the support and kindness showed her family. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Westbrooke Manor for their care and concern.

Private funeral services for Elaine were held at the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, the Rev. Karen Jewell officiated. Elaine was buried with family by her side in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Oshkosh. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to St. Andrews Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. It was a great joy to Elaine to work on the stained glass windows of the Church for many years and she would feel it fitting that she could assist in continuing that work through contributions upon her death. We will always carry her memory in our hearts.
