Nathaniel Young Obituary

Young, "Than" Nathaniel

Nathaniel Elijah Young, age 39, passed away peacefully at home from influenza on Monday, March 21, 2016. He was three weeks short of his 40th birthday. Nathaniel battled progressive epilepsy most of his life, but despite that, he was able to experience a lot that life had to offer. He enjoyed traveling, good art, music, decorating, dogs, and a good story.

Than spent the first part of his life in Rock Island, Illinois and the last 20 years in Oshkosh. He graduated from Oshkosh West High. For the last several years he attended the LSS day program at the Oshkosh Senior Center. His parents want to thank the staff at LSS for all they do. Thanks also to the Sunday night crew at Aurora Medical Center for the care they gave to our entire family and for allowing us to take Than home for his final hours.

Nathaniel would like everyone to be kind to one another. In lieu of a memorial, please do something nice for someone, or an animal. A private burial was held at Riverside Cemetery. If you ever find yourself near Riverside Cemetery, come and sit in the big chair at Cedar and Laurel. Bring a book or just hang out with Than and his brother, Andy. They always liked company.

Than lived at home with and is survived by his mama, Barbara (B.) Young, and his papa David Doggie Nesseler and his best pack mates and friends Daisy and Abner. He is also survived by grandparents, Sandy and Jim Young, and Jim Nesseler, Aunts Holly Huntley (Chris), Emily Masengarb (Harold), Susie Hubred (Kevin), Uncles Steve Young, Scott Nesseler (Karen), Jerry Nesseler (Luz) and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his younger brother Andy, his grandmother Betty Nesseler, his Aunt Ishka (Laurie) Young, and great grandparents Beepo Spiller, and George and Pat Young.

Much love and hugs to you and Dave. The boys were rays of sunshine, and always made me smile. Mischief and silliness, loved every moment. Thank you Than for the time I got to know you. <3 Love, Tory
