Sun Prairie - Delores Jane Glaeser, 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. She was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on February 13, 1933, daughter of Arthur and Elda (Martin) Raddatz. She attended South Park Elementary and Junior High and Oshkosh High School, graduating in January 1951. She attended Oshkosh State Teacher's College and graduated from the Rural Education Division in 1953. Her first teaching assignment was at Mullen School, a one room country school in Washington County. After three and a half years, she returned to Oshkosh and taught the upper grades at Oakwood School.

On May 25, 1957 she married Ronald V. Glaeser at Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. They had two sons, Tim and Randy.

While their children were growing up, Delores continued her education and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education graduating in 1969. She was then assigned to Roosevelt Elementary School as a sixth grade teacher and moved on to Webster Stanley Middle School where she taught sixth and seventh grade for seventeen years, retiring in 1989.

After retiring, they moved to Gresham, Wisconsin and lived on Lower Red Lake during the summers and spent the winters in Harlingen, Texas. She and Ronald were members of Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh until retirement in 1989 and attended St. James Lutheran in Shawano while living in Gresham. They attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Harlingen, Texas during the winter season.

Delores was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Honors Society for teachers and served as secretary for one term. She also received the "Professor for a Day" award sponsored by EduCare in 1976. While in Texas, she served their park association as both secretary and director for eight years. She was a member of the local, state and national Education Associations.

In 2008 Delores and Ron moved to Walla Walla, Washington and enjoyed spending time with son, Randy and his family. In 2017 they moved to Sun Prairie, Wisconsin to live closer to their son Tim and family. Randy and his wife moved to Sun Prairie in June 2018 upon retirement, so the family was reunited again for a brief time.

Delores was a devoted teacher and loved children. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was very proud of them. She enjoyed making special crafty projects for family and friends.

Survivors include: Ronald (husband), two sons - (retired Colonel) Tim R. (Anja) Glaeser and (retired Lt. Colonel) Randy L. (Vivian), Glaeser, five grandchildren and one great-grandson, sister Jalaine (Lyle) Staehle, and brother Gerald (Gail) Raddatz, several nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Lakeview Memorial Park, 2786 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will follow.
