Oshkosh - Maria Talin, 68, Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 14, 2018. She was born November 9, 1949, in Amsterdam, daughter of Bill and Frances Linek. Maria was five years old when her family moved to The United States, settling in Chester, Connecticut. She attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs, obtaining a degree in English. Several years later Maria relocated to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where she met and married her husband, John "Jack" H. Talin. They were married at the First Congregational Church on March 14, 1987. In 1993 the couple relocated once more to Oshkosh, WI, where they quickly felt at home attending First Congregational Church here in town. Maria was active in her church committees, volunteering her time wherever she could, including serving as moderator for the congregation and as treasurer for the Women's Fellowship group, and singing in the choir. Her church family will dearly miss her. Maria also enjoyed volunteering with the Wisconsin Master Gardeners, painting, and traveling with Jack all around the county and internationally. Maria was previously employed with Anchor Bank as a Mortgage Loan Manager for many years prior to her retirement.
