Oshkosh - Marjorie "Marge" E. Borgardt, 90, Oshkosh, WI passed away June 6, 2018 at Bella Vista, Oshkosh, WI. Marge was born at home in Waukau, Wisconsin on December 21, 1927 to Herbert and Irma (Palfrey) Minckler. She graduated from Omro High School and shortly thereafter she met the love of her life, Alex Borgardt, at a dance at The Eagles Club. He had just returned from serving his country in World War II. He was that handsome guy in his army uniform that she couldn't resist. They married August 24, 1946 at Grace Luthern Church in Pickett, WI. Al and Marge were married for 51 years until Alex passed away on July 13, 1997.Alex and Marge started their married life in Chicago but after one year they decided the big city life wasn't for them. They returned to the Oshkosh area and spent many years farming. Marge went to work at Winnebago Mental Health Institute where she planned on working only one year but ended up working 36 years. She had another job that required even more dedication and she gave it her all. That job consisted of 17 years being a full-time caregiver for Alex because a freak accident broke his back and paralyzed him from the waist down. Marge was a member of First English Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed reading, cross-word puzzles, card clubs and her many friends. She was a member of the Salvation Army Women's Group and volunteered for Friends of the Tourism Bureau.

She is survived by one daughter, Catherine (Dennis) Steiner and one son, Alan (Marcia) Borgardt, both of Oshkosh. Grandchildren Stacey Getchius, Trisha Ann (Kevin) Knuth, Trisha Erin (Scott) Cairns and Brady Borgardt. She is survived by nine great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Rueben Borgardt and three sister-in-laws, Elmyra Borgardt, Ruth Borgardt and Jan Borgardt.
