Norman J. "Herky" Elsinger
Oshkosh - Norman J. "Herky" Elsinger, age 58, of Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 14, 2019. He was born September 1st, 1960 to Francis "Buster" and Rose (nee Holubok) Elsinger. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and Lourdes High School, graduating in 1979. His grand-daughters were the light of his life and he spent as much time with them as he could. Herky loved hunting and fishing. His favorite local place to go fishing and hunting was at White River. He also made many trips to Wyoming to hunt Antelope and Deer. He was very involved with the Winnebago County Dog Park which was very dear to him.
Herky is survived by his daughter Lyndsay Formiller and two granddaughters, Aubree and Paityn Wroblewski, all of Appleton. Two brothers, Bob (Janet Warner) Elsinger of Angel Fire NM and Brad Elsinger of Abadiania, Brazil. Two sisters, Pattie (Lee) Dorn of Verona and Fuzzy (Arlin) Bakken of Oshkosh. Two nephews, Mason (Kirsten) Dorn and Clayton Dorn of Verona. Three grand nieces Ayla and Hazel Dorn (Mason) and Tehya Maday Dorn (Clayton). His Step-Mother, Shirley Bell Elsinger of Fond du Lac along with her children, Rick Bell and Cindy (Jim) Roen. His daughter's mother, Laurie Goheen. Special friends Art Stelzner and Joe Jungwirth. Also many other friends at B&E and the Winnebago County Dog Park. Most importantly he is survived by his fur baby and companion Sadie. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Norman on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11 am at St. Jude Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, corner of Knapp and 6th Streets in Oshkosh. A time of visitation will be held at the Poklasny Funeral Home, 870 W. South Park Ave. on Wednesday evening from 5 pm until 7 pm and again at the church only on Thursday from 10 am until the time of Mass. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
