Peter Gregory "Greg" Millman Obituary
Peter Gregory "Greg" Millman

East River Point, Nova Scotia - Peter Gregory "Greg" Millman, age 74, of East River Point, Nova Scotia, Canada, died May 8, 2018. Born in Huntington Beach, Calif., in 1944, he was the son of the late Peter Stanley and Ruth E. Millman of LaSalle, Ill. Greg was a teacher, guidance counsellor, coach, and tutor for many years in Nova Scotia schools. Greg will be remembered for many things but what he valued most was the family he created with Sally (nee Schleinz), his wife of 54 years. He will be greatly missed by his beloved children Peter Paul (Joyce), Christian (Michelle), Jennifer (Dennis), Luke, and Bennett (Carol); and cherished grandchildren Jacob, Peter, Lucas, Sarah, Gregory, Annie, Jack, Mariska, Gavin, Will, and Charlotte. Of special note, Greg found a kindred spirit in his sister-in-law Sandra L. Schleinz, of Oshkosh. Also mourning are brother-in-law Roderick (Sue) Brusius of Omro, sisters Janalee (Al), Margo (Don), Darcia (Ed), Anita (Armand), and their families.

Greg had infinite patience for those who could benefit from his special talents. His boundless energy and generosity of spirit helped them realize their potential in academics, athletics, and learning to thrive as human beings. He took time to listen to everyone who needed or wanted to talk, offering a willing ear or words of encouragement and comfort. Greg often said his greatest accomplishment had little to do with him as an individual but was found in the joy he experienced through the positive impact made by his children, his grandchildren, and the students whose lives he was grateful to have touched. Greg's goal was to be kind and loving. He led and lived that example in his deeds great and small, without fanfare or expectation of recognition. More often than not, he would deliberately work behind the scene to help ease someone's situation or plight in quiet and caring ways. Greg leaves behind many legacies in the passions he shared with others. An avid reader, he lined his walls with books which, once read, were never forgotten. Always an athlete, Greg spent many hours running and cycling local roads and trails where he was well-known for his dedication to these pursuits. As per Greg's wishes, donations of time or money to a food bank, or the performing of any other act of kindness, would be appreciated.
