Ann Irene Knuth Obituary
Knuth, Ann Irene

Ann Irene Knuth, age 70, was welcomed into Heaven on February 19th, 2014 as a result of an automobile accident. She would ask that we not mourn her passing but celebrate her life and make sure that there is more than enough food ready to go around for everyone!

Ann was born on December 16, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio to her parents Charles and Irene Ownley. She lived in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin most of her life, and more recently had moved to Oshkosh. Ann was a 1962 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School and went on to marry her high school sweetheart, the love of her life, Rockne Knuth, at the United Methodist Church in Fond du Lac in 1963.

Ann graduated from the Moraine Park Technical Institute Licensed Practicing Nurse (LPN) Program, beginning a career focused on caring for others that lasted more than 25 years. Helping people was not just a career for Ann, it was her life's passion.

Ann was a passionate quilter and craftswoman. In addition to selling her creations at local craft shows, she delighted in blessing those she loved with colorful and elaborate quilts, many of which now have been enjoyed for more than one generation. Ann loved cooking and baking and delighted in making treats for family, friends, and even strangers during the holidays. She was known for her lasagna, pot roast, spaghetti sauce, and soups, as well as her Swedish kringle, which had become a special and coveted treat among her children and grandchildren.

Ann was an adventurous woman who loved to travel. She had no hesitations about driving long distances to visit friends, family and to simply explore and enjoy. She especially enjoyed trips to Sanibel Island in Florida, Upstate New York, Amish country in Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Montana, and had even driven with her husband and son from Wisconsin to central Mexico twice. She has visited Germany, Austria, northern Italy, and just last year fulfilled a lifelong dream of celebrating her Golden Anniversary with her husband in Paris France.

A loving wife, mother, foster parent, sister, daughter, and friend; Ann truly came into her own in the role of Grandma. She was loving to a fault and fiercely devoted to her family. There is no way to quantify the number of lives that Ann has touched and changed for the better throughout her lifetime. Her great spirit, wonderful sense of humor, and gentle loving heart will be missed.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Irene Ownley. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rockne, and her children: Linda and Darwin Respalje and their children Lindsay, Jennifer and Alicia; Kevin and Emily Knuth and their children Henry and Lucy; Joshua and Rebekah Knuth; and Shannon Knuth Diettinger, daughters Madelyn and Ashley and her children Alexis, Skylyn, Lorali, and Annabelle; as well as her brother David Ownley and his wife Jill.

Memorial services will be forthcoming as Rockne recovers from injuries sustained in the accident. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Rockne and Ann Knuth fund at to assist with Rockne's recovery. Additional updates will be made available on Facebook at the "Rocky Knuth Support Group".

Thank you, Ann. You are deeply, widely and thoroughly loved, and you will be equally missed.
