Maria Amanda Daniels, age 73, of Lohrville (Redgranite) passed away Sunday afternoon, December 3, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Maria was born September 12, 1944 in Chicago Heights, Illinois, a daughter of Eliodoro and Josefina Rodriguez. She married Philip R. Daniels February 20, 2009 in Wautoma. Philip survives.

Maria had lived in various parts of the country with her family. She attended high school in Missouri. Maria raised her family in Idaho and Wisconsin.

Maria had been employed at the United Migrant Opportunity Services (U.M.O.S.) in Wautoma for about 28 years until she retired due to her illness in June of this year.

She was an avid line dancer and was a member of the Boot Scooters Line Dancing Club of Pine River. She enjoyed country music and attended Country U.S.A. in Oshkosh each year since it began. Marie also enjoyed reading, taking walks, watching movies, going to rummage sales, knitting, and crocheting. MOST of all, Maria enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Phil, who called Maria "his angel on earth"; a son, Jesse (Rosa) Zuniga of Caldwell, Idaho; 2 daughters, Joann (Jose) Verdin of Fond du Lac, and Carol (Camerino Rojas) Zuniga of Neenah; a sister, Linda (Jerome Rodriguez) Dudley of Boise, Idaho; 2 brothers, Joseph Rodriguez of Caldwell, Idaho and Juan Rodriguez of Marsing, Idaho; a sister-in-law, Lu Ann Daniels of Wautoma; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Adriana) Daniels of Lohrville, Donald (Renee) Daniels of Berlin, and James Daniels of Mosinee; 4 grandchildren, Nicholas Nunez, Jessica Verdin, Jose F. (Amber) Verdin, and Jessica F. Zuniga; and 2 great-grandchildren, Areli Gonzales, and Amanda Verdin. Maria is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Maria knew and touched the lives of many people.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert "Bobby" Zuniga, and her father-in-law, Ken Daniels.

Memorial Services for Maria Daniels will be held Friday, December 8th. at 6:00 P.M. at the Ruminski Funeral Home in Redgranite. Pastor Steve Kolasinski will officiate. Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Friday Only, prior to the Memorial Services at the Ruminski Funeral Home.
