Edward J. Quigley

Edward J. Quigley, age 87, of Winneconne, died Friday evening, October 4, 2013, at his home. Edward was born on November 22, 1925, in Winnebago County, the son of Leon and Helen (Crowley) Quigley. He was a graduate of Winneconne High School and the Agricultural Short Course at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Edward served as a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Winneconne Fire Department and also served on the Vinland Mutual Insurance Co. Board of Directors. He married Joyce Winters on October 20, 1951. Edward was the third generation owner/operator of the family dairy farm. He also enjoyed his many years as a member of the Winneconne Men's Club and Ducks Unlimited. Edward belonged to St Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne.

Edward is loved and will be missed by his wife Joyce; children, Kathy, Edward (Stephanie), Thomas (Shari); grandsons, Jack and Ryan; siblings, Kathleen Quigley, Josephine Lenz, Ruth Quigley, Margaret (George) Gordus, Leon (Delores) Quigley; sisters-in-law, Elaine Altmann, June Winters; brother-in-law, Boyd Chittim; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Irene (Quigley) Chittim.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 210 Pleasant Drive, Winneconne, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. A funeral Mass will follow at 6:00 p.m. Fr. Doug LeCaptain and Sr. Pam Biehl will officiate. Edward will be laid to rest in the Winneconne Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Edward's name.

Edwards' family would like to thank the staff of ThedaCare Visiting Nurses and Hospice, Sr. Pam, Fr. Doug, and John Covach for their care, compassion, and friendship.
