Helen Kuusisto Hill, devoted mother of Jill Michael, Lynn Robinson, and Dale Kevelighan passed away on December 21, 2020. She was born in Detroit Michigan on February 17, 1921, the only child of Susan and Victor Kuusisto and married Dr. Joseph E. Hill in 1939. She lived to the remarkable age of 99 and was two months short of making it to 100 years old. Helen’s husband, Joe, died in 1979 and she has carried on for many years since his death living in Detroit Michigan, West Bloomfield, Michigan and now Gainesville, Fl. She is survived by three daughters, Jill Michael (David), Lynn Robinson (Ken) who live in Gainesville, Florida, while her daughter, Dale Kevelighan, lives in New Jersey. She is survived by 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The grand children include David Kevelighan, Kevin Kevelighan, Dana Kevelighan Fleming (Bill), Jeff (Krista) Robinson, and Reid Robinson. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She attended Detroit Business Institute and then worked as a secretary. She was active at Wayne State University and Oakland Community College with the faculty wives. She was a seamstress, talented home maker, and a water color artist. She was a strong woman and quite self reliant, working for J. L. Hudsons for fifteen years. She lived in Michigan in her own home until she was 92 and then moved with her daughter, Jill, to Florida in 2013. We will miss Helen but know she is in a better place with the last few years of her life being challenging. Memorial services will be held on June 26 at White Chapel Cemetery, 10:30 am (family only). Donations can be made to the Oakland Community College Foundation, Dr. Joseph E. Hill and Helen Hill Scholarship fund, 2480 Opdyke Rd, Bloomfield Hills, MI or on line at http://bit.ly/HillSch. At 12:00 noon, a celebration of life for Helen will be held at Gino’s on 1999 Cass Lake Road, Keego Harbor, MI. (Open to friends of the family).
