RABIDEAU, IRVIN CLEMENT JR. RABIDEAU, IRVIN CLEMENT JR. of Waterford, passed August 29, 2018 at 76 years of age. Beloved husband of Margaret; brother of Nancy C. Rabideau; uncle of David and Troy Stevens, and Michael Slawnski; dear buddy of his beloved Boston Terrier, Molly. Born in Detroit in 1942 to Arline (nee Pingle) and Irvin Rabideau Sr., Irvin graduated from East Detroit High School where he loved academics and football, and was all-state in his junior year. Following graduation in 1960, he attended University of Michigan where he pledged the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, an affiliation of which he was very proud, and began his lifelong loyalty to the Wolverines. He earned his bachelor's degree in history from Eastern Michigan University; master's in history from Wayne State; and pursued doctoral studies from the University of Kentucky and the University of North Carolina. He returned to Wayne State to earn a master's in library science. In 1971, Irvin married Margaret DeMarke, and they resided in Detroit. Irvin's library career included the Birmingham Public Library, Detroit Public Library, Madonna University Library, and Waterford Township Public Library. He loved books and was an avid genealogist. He was a past president of both the Waterford and Oakland County Genealogical Societies. He especially enjoyed books on his French-Canadian heritage. After retiring, he enjoyed sudoko and political talk shows. Irv was a passionate liberal to the end. Arrangements entrusted to COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD.
