BAUER, Elden Wayne It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and uncle on March 5, 2021 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Shirley (Dezort) Bauer, son Cory, daughter, Kristy Senger (Darryl Johnston), grandchildren Paighton, Cole, Hanna and Zara Senger, brother Lyle (Raymonde) Bauer and many nieces and nephews and in-laws. He was predeceased by his parents Alma and Godrey Bauer. Elden was born on August 20, 1943 in Strasbourg, Saskatchewan. He grew up in Bulyea and loved playing sports and was very athletic. His banking career started shortly after leaving high school and eventually moved to Regina where he met the love of his life, Shirley. They were married in 1966 in Regina and in 1972 they moved to Dinsmore where they remain to this day. He stayed with the Credit Union for over 30 years, he had a great head for numbers, served as a volunteer for the rink and loved supporting the sporting community. His real passion was baseball, his favorite years were when he coached the senior baseball team in Dinsmore. There were many weekends spent travelling to ball tournaments. He knew the game inside and out, he also played on the oldtimers baseball team in Dinsmore. His other passion was football, he loved the Saskatchewan Roughriders, he was an amazing armchair coach. There were always numerous discussions regarding coaching, players and plays, and what could have been done better. Yelling during the game whether it was out of frustration or a touchdown was expected. Dad became Mom's caregiver at the age of 49, this was never an easy job and heartbreaking one to lose the person you knew the first 25 years of your marriage. A difficult life change that was not without its struggles and disappointments, however they endured. Although Dad was not very social, he was very supportive and generous from afar. A phone call was always welcome to discuss the Blue Jays, Rough Riders or curling as well as many jokes and much teasing was to be expected. He was funny sarcastic and witty. A private family graveside will occur at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the AGT Memorial Arena, Dinsmore, SK. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Outlook Funeral Chapel. __________________________________________________
