Margaret MOREAU Obituary

Passed away peacefully with her husband by her side at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the age of 73. Beloved wife of Jim Moreau for 47 years. Predeceased by her parent Everett and Ruth Nobes (nee Burgess). She will be sadly missed by her extended family and friends. Margaret was a librarian at the Toronto Public Library and then a teacher in Toronto. She was also a member of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW). Cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In memory of Margaret, donations may be made to the Charles H. Margaret was such an interesting person to spend time with. I enjoyed our many conversations over CFUW events. She loved her book clubs and the Saturday Night Club - wining and dining our way around Peterborough. She was on the CFUW Executive for the last 5 years and was very involved with Club Activities. She was always willing to jump in and help whenever a need arose. This year in particular she and I were co-chairs of the Issues group which focused on Long-Term Care in Ontario. On our behalf she wrote letters that were sent to MP's and MPP's throughout Ontario. She was a good friend and I will miss her. Jim you are In my thoughts and prayers.

Margaret, Jim, Terry & I met in the mid 70s. Neighbours first then good friends with our numerous fur children over the years. Now Margaret & Terry can once again toast each other. They both would have been 74 this year.

In loving memory of a wonderful woman and great friend. My heartfelt condolences to Jim and her extended family.

I met Margaret through CFUW Peterborough. She was an invaluable member of our club. She has served as our Executive Secretary, chair of our Interest Groups, chair of Hospitality, the Coordinator of Community Liaison, and Chair of our Issues Group. Recently, she was the lead on our Long-term Care project, increasing awareness of the need for better attention in this sector. As a member of our Program Planning Committee, Margaret was instrumental in getting several authors to speak at our general meetings.

She was an avid reader and member of at least two of our book clubs. She always selected great reads and offered many insights into the books we read.

I will miss her tremendously.
