It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of George Crowe, Patriarch of the Crowe Family. George was predeceased by his loving wife Joan of 61 years. He was a fun-loving dad to Jan (Svend), Stephen (Michele), Doug (Liana) and Don (Rene). George was loving grandfather to Taylor, Madeline, Emily, Rebecca, Brad, Megan, Natalie, Sarah, Olivia and Hayden. George was a proud great grandfather to Monica, Xavier and Gabriel. George was predeceased by his parents Wallace and Anna Crowe, sisters Betty Lou, Norma and his twin sister Nancy. George enjoyed a long and successful sales career at Domtar Packaging, and was a recognized leader in his industry. Our family was transferred multiple times across South-Western Ontario due to Dad's career promotions. Mom and Dad loved to travel and enjoyed trips. We recall many happy memories of camping, boating, canoeing and fishing at the Blue Anchor in Bayfield, Lovesick Lake and several other destinations. George loved animals and he enjoyed the companionship of family pets, with the last being his beloved Boston Terrier Molly. George also had a lifelong love for horses. In early retirement he volunteered for several years at Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and learning Center, culminating in a once in a lifetime adventure of traversing the Rocky Mountains on horseback. Over the past few years George faced several life threatening challenges, which he overcame with inner strength, resilience and his infamous sense of humour. He fought a valiant battle against Covid 19, and passed away peacefully at Georgetown Hospital. We extend our sincere gratitude to the staff at AMICA Georgetown for their excellent care and support. Additionally, a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Georgetown Hospital Emergency Department who allowed us to say good bye to our dad. Cremation has taken place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in London. Internment and celebration of Life will be announced at a later date due to the current Covid-19 restrictions. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills (CASHH). Until we meet again, Dad.
