Sue A. Bendy Obituary
Sue A. Bendy
November 1, 1939 - January 6, 2019

CULVER - Sue A. Bendy, 79, of Culver, passed away peacefully with her family beside her on Sunday, Jan. 6.
Sue was born on Nov. 1, 1939, in Plymouth, one of two children born to Wilbur and Myra (Wagoner) Geiselman.
After graduating from Culver High School in 1957 she moved to Ft Wayne and enrolled in Ravenscroft Beauty College, becoming a licensed cosmetologist, a license she retained the rest of her life. She went to work in Huntington, where she met the love of her life on a double date.
She married David Bendy on Jan. 5, 1964 in Rahway, New Jersey. They eventually came back to Culver and raised their four children.
Sue embraced being a wife and mother. She loved taking care of Dave and the kids, making it a priority to attend as many of the kids' activities as possible. She loved to cook for the family and even delivered cookies to friends around town during the holidays.
Sue enjoyed reminiscing with her high school friends known as the "Gutter Gurls". She was a lifelong Cubs fan and loved her cats. She enjoyed traveling around the country with Dave to see family and his Air Force buddies.
She was a faithful member of Grace United Church of Christ, Culver, enjoyed her flowers and simply sitting and looking out at the lake. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Sue is survived by her children: Lori Bendy of Indianapolis, James (Susan) Bendy of South Bend, Thomas (Wendi) Bendy of Culver and Daniel J Bendy of Plainfield; grandchildren: Jennifer (Justin) Wulf, Madeline, Joshua, Erin, Emily, Seth, Mitchell, and Ella Bendy; and great-grandchild Langley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Larry Geiselman, and her husband David.
There will be a brief time to visit with the family on Sunday, Jan. 13, from 12:30 - 1 p.m. at the Culver Masonic Cemetery, where a graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. A luncheon will follow at Grace United Church of Christ, Culver.
Memorials may be given to Grace United Church of Christ, 307 N Plymouth St., Culver Ind. 46511.
Condolences may be sent via the obituary page at www.odomfuneralhome.com.
