Years ago through work I met a gentleman by the name of Warren Henson... He introduced me not only to the Naenae Cricket Club but also his lovely wife Janice.. I was welcomed into their home frequently especially Friday evenings after couple pints at the RSA myself and Mr. Henson would leave 6.30pm on the dot to pick up fish n chips to take home to Janice..Janice made me feel welcome and shared her home with me.. Such a loving and caring person and I especially enjoyed her garden tips and tours.. I send my sincere condolences to my dear friend Mr.Henson and the family.. Rest in piece Janice..

I knew Janice two ways - through Christ Church Taita and through Scottish Country dancing. We would have met through the latter in the late 1970s or early 1980s, maybe in 1977 when I went to my first Lower Hutt social dance. I usually tried to have a dance with Janice whenever we were at the same event. She was a good person to dance with.

After some years we found our connection through Christ Church. I became a Life Member and appreciated the newsletters that Janice would email to me, especially when I left the Wellington Region. My last email was in 2022 when Janice stepped down as Secretary.

I send my condolences to Warren and the family. I was glad to be able to attend the funeral via livestreaming and hear the tributes to Janice. A wonderful person whose service I will remember.

My lasting memory of Janice from the office next door to her in the Education Centre of the old building at Te Omanga will be every morning hearing her sing happy birthday to volunteers on their birthday!
It was always heart warming !
She was a great woman.

Janice was one of those rare people who could get people to do anything. During her incredible work at Te Omanga Hospice I met her and did anything for her and the hospice she did so much for. I will never forget her. There will never be another like her.

I remember meeting Janice when I first started volunteering at Te Omanga in 2013. She was such a loving, compassionate person who made anyone feel so, so important. When Heath & I shared our news of expecting our son, Benjamin, she was ecstatic. This is just one memory that we will carry with us.

We are sad to hear of Janice's death & send our heartfelt love to Warren & the whole family as you all remember Janice & the impact she had on so many lives, including mine.

Janice, thank you. Thank you for all your love, support & compassion over the years we have known each other. I know that you will rest in peace & that, for those left behind, this will bring comfort.

With much love & appreciation,
Elizabeth McCallum (along with Heath & Benjamin)
