Beverley LIDINGTON Obituary

Beverley passed away in Napier on 12 July 2025, aged 88 years. Much loved wife of the late Harry. Mother and mother-in-law of Vicki and Harry, Tracey and Anthony, and Stephanie and Bruce. Gran of Sophie and Alex, Georgia and Tipa, Fergus, Thomas (deceased) and Kate, and Great-Gran of Lucy and Harry. Vicki, Tracey and Stephanie would especially like to thank the management and staff of the Taradale Masonic Rest Home and Hospital for their sensitivity and wonderful care of Bev, and for their guidance over the past few weeks.
A private cremation has been held. A memorial service for Bev will be held in St John's Anglican Church, 174 High Street, Dannevirke on Monday, 21 July at 11.00am. Bev will then be laid to rest with Harry at Mangatera Cemetery. Messages to the Lidington Family, C/- PO Box 439, Napier 4140.

We've only just found out the news that Bev has died. We are thinking of you all as you remember her as mother, grandmother, sister, and all the music she was involved in over the years. I tried to ring her 2 months ago to have a chat, and to ask her permission to sing her arrangment of "Mary did you know". (With a little help from Fergus). Bev was always pitch perfect, and kept us all on our toes when we sang out anywhere. I loved singing with Bev and we misssed her when "Short n Sweet" folded because of Covid. She was a special lady. Losing a loved one and learning to accept what has happened is one of lifes most difficult challenges but remember in the moments of your heartbreaking grief the reason you have an empty space in your heart is because you were blessed with someone who loved you and who occupied a special part of your soul.
